The Beaches – Residential Development

The Beaches is a thoughtfully designed residential development in the picturesque fishing village of Johnshaven, created in partnership with award-winning home builders Fotheringham Homes.

Recognised as a finalist at the 2024 Scottish Home Awards for Housing Development of the Year (Large Private Sale) and winner of Show Home of the Year, the development reflects a deep understanding of both the client’s vision and the evolving needs of homebuyers. With a growing demand for high-quality bungalows, particularly among empty-nesters planning for retirement, the development’s design prioritises 1 and 1.5-storey homes while maximising stunning sea views and encouraging a strong sense of community.

To offer variety and adaptability for different lifestyles, Crawford Architecture created five distinct house types, two of which feature optional sunroom extensions. The result is a sold-out development with a collection of 71 modern homes, ranging from spacious 2, 3, and 4-bedroom properties, that seamlessly integrate with the surrounding village, offering an ideal balance of rural tranquillity and contemporary living.
